IE vs Netscape: new code
Fra : Jurgen Strijkers

Dato : 05-10-01 20:48

Everybody who is into webdesign probably came across the nightmare of IE and
Netscape. Compatibility is
We found a trick with repeating bg's in cells to make lines connect over the
different cells. We do this by setting F.E. a line as the bg of a cell and
set the width to 100%.

You can find an example on a site we are working on:
http://www.metawebdesign.be/ucc/index.html
you can see how the lines connect even under F11 and under different
resolutions.

This works greate with IE (under different resolutions) but of course
Netscape is acting up. Does anyone have an idea how we can make it work in
Netscape and if possible even in Opera?

Sites with resources are also welcome

Greetz,
Meta

I notice no significant difference between the renderings of your page from
IE 6, Opera 5.11, Mozilla 0.9.4, and Navigator 4.08. What are you talking
about?

bg tile not really a prob anymore, Net 6.01 is pretty sweet, lots of fixes,
they even recognize more style tags now. encourage all those Net users to
upgrade, IE still your best bet though, But Net 6.01 is a good step for all
us web developers. It's about time!!!
