Newbie: OLE vs. ActiveX (and what is COM?)
Fra : Nybbler

Dato : 08-01-01 00:41

Hi!

I am a newbie, so I hope I don't post off-topic:
If I understood it right, OLE is a interface to realise
"between-process-messaging", so I can send messages from one process to
another, right? Or is it just to implement some other programs in my own
program (like Word or Excel or SQL).

And COM is the basis of OLE.

But what is ActiveX?

If I program that in Visual Basic, where can I find some tutorials on the
I-net?

thx in advance,

Nybbler
