Hej alle

X-postet til flere grupper.

Dette fik jeg på en af de lister jeg er på:

Excerpt of longer post ProMED. also vetpet In this article this is
what is important to cat / dog owners
Animal feed laced with a potent antibiotic chloramphenicol that can halt
production of human blood cells, fearing tons of the meal may have got
into the food chain.
Masterfoods GmbH, a German unit of United States group Mars Inc., said
wednesday that it has withdrawn some dry catfood from sale produced by
its Verden factory in Lower Saxony while tests are underway. Spokeswoman
Margrit Kolbe-Hopp said none of the firm's leading brands such as
Whiskas contain fish meal, and so sales continue.
The reported withdrawal of dry catfood that might contain
chloramphenicol must have taken place in view of the drug's recorded
toxicity to cats, causing leucopenia, severe bone marrow suppression,
and mortality in these animals.
Dogs, on the other hand, are regarded as rather tolerant to
chloramphenicol uptake.
Germany, Denmark, Poland, and Romania scrambled on Wednesday to trace
animal feed laced with a potent antibiotic that can halt production of
human blood cells, fearing tons of the meal may have got into the food
chain. Germany impounded material at an animal feed plant on Wednesday,
while authorities in Denmark, Poland, and Romania were looking to see if
tainted fish meal had been fed to livestock.

Det mest chokerende er efter min mening ikke at det er sket men at det er
sket uden at pressen har nævnt en disse om det (Jeg har i al fald ikke hørt
noget i de officielle medier - har I?)

Men føj dog.

Hilsen
