1. Installing SightCAN PC Video Camera
Make sure to install the software before plugging in the camera. Note that
to use SightCAN PC Video Camera, you must be running Windows 98 or later on
your computer.
l Insert the SightCAN PC Video Camera software CD into the CD-ROM
drive of your computer.
l Wait a few seconds. Setup will guide you through the software
setup sequence automatically. Just follow the on-screen prompts.
Note If the SightCAN PC Video Camera Setup screen does not display
automatically,
l Go the Taskbar and click Start, the Run.
l Type E:\SETUP.EXE and press the Enter key. When E: is the drive
designation of your CD-ROM drive.
l During software installation, Setup will prompt you to connect
the camera cable to your computer.
l Carefully remove the camera and camera base from the box and
protective packaging.
l Insert the camera cable into the USB port.
The USB port may be on the monitor or at the back of the computer.
l Continue with software installation by following the on-screen
prompts.
2. Launching the Software
SightCAN PC Video Camera comes with video capture and enhancement software
called VP-EYE. You launch VP-EYE by
l Selecting VP-EYE through the Windows Start menu, as described
below
1. Click the Start menu on the Windows 98 Taskbar.
2. Select Programs VP-EYE.
3. The VP-EYE main dialog box is displayed.
Te main dialog box is where you view live video in the view Finder, and is
also used to capture video clips and pictures. Refer to the online help for
more information about using VP-EYE. After launching VP-EYE, go to the How
to guide for simple step-by-step instructions for using you SightCAN PC
Video
Camera.
3. Setting up the Camera
To place SightCAN PC Video Camera on a flat surface, such as a tabletop,
simply remove to camera and camera base on table or monitor. To hold the
camera
in you hand, only pick camera up.
4. Tips
Here are a few things to keep in mind that will help you get the most form
PC-3113.
Versatility. Whether you hold it in your hand, place it on your monitor, or
put it on your desktop, SightCAN PC Video Camera provides flexibility.
Placing
the camera on your monitor usually provides excellent eye contact. But
holding the camera makes it possible for you to move up close to objects.
Lighting. SightCAN PC Video Camera works well with all types of room
lighting. But for good video quality, try not to place bright light (e.g.,
sunlight
through a window) behind your subjects. In harsh, contrasts light, you will
appear too dark or your subject will lack detail.
Sound. While recording, it is best to keep your computer's speakers behind
the camera. Placing the camera too close to a sound source may affect the
camera's
sound quality by creating audio feedback.
