Long Way Down’ for Riders for Health
MotoGP 18/06/07
Actors Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman are attempting to raise
money for Riders for Health this week, by auctioning the chance to
join them for the final two days of a ride through Africa to Cape
Agulhas.
BMW will provide two bikes for the highest bidders, who will fly to
Cape Town to join up with McGregor and Boorman for the closing part of
their ‘Long Way Down’ documented journey. The auction itself will be
held at Riders for Health’s signature event, ‘Day of Champions’ at
Donington Park this Thursday.
Riders for Health Chief Executive Andrea Coleman praised the auction,
which will donate proceeds only to the official MotoGP charity.
‘This is a completely unique opportunity to become involved in
something that simply cannot be repeated. We are hoping for some
pretty hefty bids and all the money will go towards supporting
motorcycling health workers, who take vital care to rural communities,
in Africa.’

experience, more information is available at
