In the previous tip, we mentioned that you can choose No Sounds as your
sound scheme, to silence your computer. You may notice, however, that the
computer still beeps in certain instances. In order to shut this off you
will need to take an additional step. Open Computer Management (right-click
the My Computer icon, and choose Manage), then click Device Manager.
From the View menu, choose Show Hidden Devices. In the right-hand pane,
under Non-Plug and Play Drivers, double-click "Beep." In the Beep Properties
window that appears, choose choose "Do not use this device (disable)" from
the drop-down box under Device Usage.
