I don't hear any sound or see a way to start it. I see none of your

The problem is that neither Frontpage nor IE conform to internet
standards agreed to by Microsoft.

So , those of us using Firefox and other non IE browsers are snobs?? Sorry,
I don't follow your reasoning. I'd say it was rather sensible! An
ever-growing number of people have seen the light and are using alternatives
to IE.
If you're asking for help, then making access to information easy should
possibly be a priority I would have thought. Why not put a link to the .wav
file on the page for us "snobs" who are not prepared to have to look at your
page source to work it out. People are only trying to help, so calling us
snobs is probably not going to encourage people to continue to help with
your regular requests for bird IDs

I thought in this case it was people having problems *listening to* web
pages!
Safe to say Mozilla/Firefox have precious little problem IME these days
displaying the abominations sometimes referred to as web pages.
People can of course use whatever they like, but to say something is
better just because lots of people use it (elsewhere in the thread) is a
pretty weak argument, particularly against the overwhelming credentials
of faster browsing (in rendering and accessability), fewer security
holes, stronger adherence to standards (that developers and users alike
have been clamouring for from IE for years), speedy development and
bug-fixes and cross-platform compatibility. Not to mention all the
pop-up blocking, tabbed browsing and so forth that non-IE browsers take
for granted as standard these days.
IE stands virtually alone as an absolute pig to develop for requireing
all sorts of kludges (particularly with reference to even basic CSS and
PNG images), as a painful security hole with patches still withstanding
for numerous, long-term exploits and as the only browser I know of that
you have to buy a whole new operating system for just to get an upgrade
which might just about match the capabilities of other modern browsers
today.
<sarcasm>But 80%+ of people use it, so it must be good!</sarcasm>

Not better - just standard. The stats are based on geek-usage. All
normal people use IE6 because that's what comes with the PC (-:

I use Firefox but keep IE for viewing those out-of-spec pages that
Firefox/Mozilla/Netscape won't handle. IE uses Microsoft's broken
version of Java, which correctly interprets most of the broken Java that
other Microsoft tools produce, but it can't handle all of the
standard-conforming Java made by other tools. Firefox handles all real
Java and only some of the broken Microsoft stuff.

Actually it's more like 60%. Check the link below.
You'll have to scroll down a bit to see the stats.
At it's highest IE was only about 72%

What we perhaps need to remember is that English is not Ben's first
language.
When my German friend was staying with me, we were having a robust
discussion when she said "that's not *my* problem" which in the context it
was said, offended me badly.
What it turned out in the end that she meant was "I don't have a problem
with that."
Such a totally different in meaning in English. She was forgiven
immediately.

You want help, but you're too lazy to post the URL? And I'm a snob?

I'm always impressed by most European's English ability. I assume Ben
understood the import when he wrote, "i do NOT bother to adjust it ..."

I'm not so sure, ask him if he meant to be rude. He probably didn't, and I
only know this because of my German friend who has taken me aback sometimes.
We Brits are far too polite to communicate with others sometimes. So many
unwritten rules.
If Ben did mean to be rude, well, that's another thing..and only he can tell

I didn't see it as rude, but as emphatically dismissive. I hope Ben

As Tina rightly points out English is our Scandinavian cousin
Ben's 2nd language, or possibly even 3rd or 4th?
Some of the ringers(banders) who worked with me in Sweden put us
Brits to shame both in the birding and language stakes. One
Polish girl speaking 6 languages and an Estonian no less than 8.
But my oh my what beautiful girls the Estonians are......
A few years back the Guardian travel writer started his report on
Tallinn
by saying he thought he had accidentally wandered into the finals
of the Miss World competition.
Realising that Ben lives in the northern climes of a land
populated by the World's greatest birder's(patronising or what?
I wonder why we do not receive pictures of Great Snipe
(dubbelbeckasin), Siberian Jay(lavskrika) and Gyrfalcon
(jaktfalc) for ID?
Please!
Of interest to some may be that many of the more picturesque
words in the old Scots language originate from within Swedish
roots.
Two birding examples that spring to mind is Gowk (Scots spelling)
and neb.
Cuckoo & bill
Anyway duty calls back to training for the next
Olympics...oh...did.. I not mention
......talking for Britain again.

What? of course I DID post an URL ?
I KNOW that IE istnt the best webbrowser..(or maybe it IS?).. but.. if I
want to communicate out a sound to as many as possible
reader/listeners.. I have a copuple of choises..
1. Do it like I did, Frontpage and cutting ot a couple of other
webbrowsers..
2. Make a bunch of different embeddings to suit all kind of browsers..
I choosed number UNO!
And.. I do mean that there ARE snobs out there.. who can listen to the
sound if they just WANT to.. but instead starts discussion of "non-
standard" webbrowsers.. I use Frontpage/IE.. I don't LOVE it.. but...
Sorry for my bad english..

Maybe you better try hard to improve it. I seems very much as if you

Nåh..., I snakker altså om /gråsisken/ (Carduelis flammea).
Det ville være ret rart, om I bare gad nævne det latinske
