Jeg købte 'Mechanics of materials' 1997, 4.ed Gere & Timoshenko. Der fulgte to disketter med, med
bla Mathcad-engine 5.0.
Dit spørgsmål gjorde mig nysgerrig, så jeg fandt det og installerede. Jeg har ikke brugt det men her
er et indtryk:

Getting Started with Your Electronic BookYour Mathcad Electronic Book was created using MathSoft's
Mathcad software, the leading technical calculation software tool for scientists and engineers. The
sections of the Electronic Book are linked Mathcad files containing one or more "pages." The unique
feature of Mathcad is its use of live math in familiar math notation: all the math formulas and
graphs you see on a Mathcad page are actually calculating when you view the page, and you can
interact with any number, formula, or graph you see on a Mathcad page and watch the effects of your
changes percolate throughout the section. Mathcad files can also have explanatory text, pictures,
and even popup windows or multimedia effects.
This Electronic Book comes with a special version of Mathcad, the Mathcad Engine(tm), that lets you
browse through the sections of the Electronic Book, see and interact with live calculations, and
even try out calculations of your own in a special Scratchpad window. You can also access your
Electronic Book directly through Mathcad (version 3.1 or higher) or Mathcad PLUS for Windows, if you
have previously installed this software. What follows will get you started if you're reading your
Electronic Book with the Mathcad Engine.
